Einstein got his extraordinary insights by doing “thought experiments,” such as asking, “what if…”
So, what if “creation is the new consumption?” I ask this because our economy is troubled by dependence upon consumption rather than on innovation, invention, ingenuity.
As an experiment, I try to create something instead of going out and buying something. The results… I’ve been way more creative, saved money, and ultimately gain financially and more importantly, spiritually. (Spirit – life force – is by definition, innately creative, so to be spiritual and alive, create).
The drive to buy comes from a desire to have something new and different that feeds the physical senses. Instead, feed the life force – the creative spirit, the instinct of apotheosis to fulfill your potential and realize your destiny. Another pair of shoes simply does not compare to a finely crafted piece of writing. Renting a movie feeds the voyeur but not the voyager. The fulfillment level of your creativity is far greater than just another something or just another show that you really don’t need and will probably turn up in a throwout pile sooner or later. Break the consumer addiction, express your natural genius, and create yourself.
“Create it, Don’t buy it.”
